Early Discovery Preschool

Columbus Grove, Continental, Fort Jennings, Leipsic, Miller City-New Cleveland, and Ottawa Glandorf

Children must be 3 or 4 years of age, fully toilet trained (unless on an IEP), and no older than 5 years of age by May 31st of the approaching school year.

Our goal is to provide quality preschool programs that nurture children while fostering an excitement and curiosity for learning.

Our programs are based on a developmental approach to education. We offer opportunities for active learning including Math & Science Discovery, Creative Arts, and Early Reading and Writing Skills. Our Teachers are certified according to Ohio Department of Education early childhood and special education standards.

A Preschools session includes: arrival, opening group activity, learning centers, open snack, large motor activity, closing activity and dismissal.

Learning Centers offer opportunities for active learning! Individual and small group experiences includes: Math Discovery, Science Discovery, Writing, Creative Arts, Literacy, and Opportunities for Social Interaction.

Children must be 3 or 4 years of age, toilet trained (unless on an IEP), and no older than 5 years of age by May 31st of the approaching school year. In accordance with State of Ohio Department of Education guidelines, children with disabilities and 4 year old children from families with limited income will be given priority. Children living within the school district of preschool location will be given priority as well. Open enrollment does not apply to preschool programs.

Preschool Enrollment is a TWO step process:

1. Pre-Registration

a. We accept calls for applications starting the first Monday in February for the upcoming school year.  Please call our office  at
419-523-5951 ext 3023 or email a request to miranda.schnipke@putnamcountyesc.org and we will email you the link to our online registration form. 

b. You will be notified by email at the beginning of April if your child is enrolled or on a wait-list. 

2. Enrollment or Wait-List

a. If you received the email notification that your child is enrolled,  the following needs turned in FIRST: copy of your child’s birth certificate and immunization record. Once those records are received, you will be emailed the link to complete the online Enrollment Forms, and a medical statement will also need completed before your child can start preschool.

b. If you received the email notification that your child is wait-listed, we will keep your child on our wait-list for the current school year. Our wait-list does not carry over to the next school year. If we have any openings you will be notified.

Tuition

  • Tuition is due on the 10th of every month starting in September and ending in May. Call the preschool office for your tuition statement.
  • We offer Reduced Tuition. To qualify, contact the preschool office to start the application. Families will also need to turn in proof of income (2 current pay stubs or W-2 tax form).

Medical Statement

 All students need to turn in a medical statement each school year. If you do not have access to a printer please email the preschool office and request a paper copy to be mailed to you. 

Required Documents

New students need to turn in a copy of their child’s BIRTH CERTIFICATE  and IMMUNIZATION RECORD before they will get access to the enrollment forms. You can email the required documents to Miranda at the preschool office: miranda.schnipke@putnamcountyesc.org 

Sliding Fee Scale for Reduced or Free Tuition

Reduced or free tuition is based on your gross income and household size. If you qualify for Medicaid, Food Stamps, or WIC then you may qualify for reduced or free tuition. Guidelines are based upon Federal Poverty Standards 2024 (click to open the Federal Poverty Standards to determine eligibility). If you are interested in in reduced tuition, contact the preschool office to start the application process.
