Our Speech-Language Pathologists provide evaluation and direct therapy services to students preschool to grade 12 in the areas of language, articulation, apraxia, fluency, and voice, as well as consultative services when appropriate.
An individualized education plan (IEP) is customized specifically to meet the needs of each particular student. Speech-Language Pathologists work with the child in collaboration with the families and educators to establish communication skills to facilitate success in the educational setting. They work with students who have a variety of abilities, such as cognitive delays, autism, hearing impairment, etc.
In some instances, the Speech-Language Pathologist may teach a student and their teacher how to use alternative methods of communication, such as sign language, iPad apps, pictures, or voice output devices.
The Speech-Language Pathologists complete the countywide hearing screenings in our public schools for grades K,1,3,5,9, and 11 in the fall.
Physical Therapists teach functional mobility skills such as balance, motor coordination, sensory-motor coordination, self-care, core strengthening, and positioning. An individualized education plan (IEP) is customized specifically to meet the needs of each particular student.
Physical Therapists work with the student in collaboration with families and educators. Physical Therapists work within the educational setting by completing evaluations, customizing individual education plans, providing activities that strengthen the core muscles, improve mobility, and positioning, as well as providing adaptations that meet the needs of each student. Our Physical Therapists work with students Pre K – 12 on an IEP.
Our Occupational Therapists teach skills to students in grades Pre K -12 on an individualized education plan (IEP). An IEP is customized specifically to meet the needs of each particular student.
Occupational Therapists teach skills in the area of fine motor such as pre-writing, visual motor perception, sensory integration, body awareness, self- regulation, and motor planning. Occupational Therapists work with the child, in collaboration with the families and educators to ensure success within the educational setting by completing individualized evaluations, customizing individual education plans, and providing instruction and adaptations that meet the unique needs of each student.
